The Julian Centre

The Julian Centre is usually open from 10:30am to 3:30pm, Mondays to Saturdays - if you are travelling a long distance to visit us, please telephone  in advance to check (01603 767380).

The Centre is staffed by members of the Centre Team which is a group of volunteers who offer their time to provide a welcome and various facilities for visitors and pilgrims to the Shrine (which is next door, within St Julian's Church).

As well as some comfortable chairs in which to relax, there is an extensive lending library of spiritual and religious books, together with one of the most extensive collections of materials on Julian of Norwich in the world, including monographs, translations, and doctoral dissertations.. There is a shop with a wide range of books about Julian of Norwich and the spiritual life.  The shop also stocks  postcards and greeting cards, together with a variety of devotional and gift items, mostly associated with Julian of Norwich.

The Centre also has toilets for the use of visitors and pilgrims.

EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES AT THE CENTRE

Julian Meetings

Every second Friday in the month the Central Norwich Julian Meeting is held in the Shrine, followed by tea, coffee and the opportunity to talk in the Julian Centre.

The meetings are simple in structure. A group member will prepare a brief starting item which leads into half an hour of silence; the silence is ended by the group member with a concluding item and a prayer.

Each meeting starts at 10.30am and the silence ends at 11.00am when, those who wish to, adjourn to the Centre for tea or coffee.

More details about the meeting can be obtained via the link at the bottom of this page.

Rosary Group

During his time working at the Shrine, Fr Robert Llewlyn established a Rosary Group.  This ecumenical group continues to meet every Monday morning after the 10.00am Mass at St Julian's.  The group then moves into the Julian Centre for tea or coffee.

More details about the group can be obtained from Fr Christopher Wood  Rector.Timberhill@gmail.com
